Solarscope
100mm test
August 24,
2012
I have on loan a Solarscope SF-100, mounted on a TeleVue NP-101
refractor (540mm focal length). I am comparing the images through this
filter with a Coronado/Meade SolarMaxII 90/BF15. The images below
were taken on August 24, 2012, at approximately 3:30pm local time. The
ground was hot and seeing was mediocre throughout the test.
All images were taken with the filters mounted on the NP-101, and with a
2.5x Powermate between the blocking filters and the FLEA-3 imaging
camera. AutoStakkert!2 was used for alignment and stacking, RegiStax6
wavelets, and Photoshop CS6 for high pass and sharpening.
Click above for unprocessed
image after alignment and
stacking in AutoStakkert! 2, and
shadows and highlights in PS.
No wavelet or other processing.
